Devblog #10 - Happy new year! Upcoming playtest for "Alpha test access" backers
almost 3 years ago

Dear backers,
2022 is upon us, so happy new year to all! We're excited for this year of game development and have some news to share vit huy.
First of all, sorry for a late update. We've had no less than three deadlines looming over us for the last few months, so we've been at hard concentration mode.
What we've been doing
So for the last year, the focus has been on building the core experience of Girl Genius: AICH. The underlying systems, gameplay feel, art direction etc. This has resulted in the first part of the game called "Act 1", where the player experiences a representative selection of gameplay and story, to get a grasp and feel of what the game is about. We've been doing many, many iterations on the same pieces of content in order to have a solid foundation for the rest of the game development. We did this, because the first part of the game should be a baseline for the rest of the game, and certain experiences should feel good to play straight out of the door. For example, combat gameplay, control responsiveness, Dialogue System, cutscenes, and art direction.
On this note, on to the next piece of news.
Closed playtest
We are gonna roll out a closed playtest on Steam, for backers on the tiers that contain the "Alpha testing access", in February. For backers on those tiers, please await my message. More information will follow.
We are excited to get some feedback on the "Act 1" demo!
Art showoff

And ending on a high note
I hope you like what you're seeing so far, and for those of you that are gonna take part in the playtest; well we're as excited as you!
