Dear Backers,

this update is only for backers receiving physical items. The update is public so that it works with Backerkit's email system.

As this update contains important information, please read carefully.

Shipping and Fulfillment fees

The final shipping costs by Region are finally ready. All items are shipped from the USA.

• North-America: $12.00,-
• South America: $37.00,-
• European Union: $17.50,-
• Europe (Non-Eu countries): $21.00,-
• Asia: $24.00,-
• Australia: $28.50,-
• Rest Of World: $50.00 (No backers should have this shipping fee applied. Please notify me by DM on Kickstarter if you have this number on your bill, since it means I've forgotten your country in the shipping fee list.)

Taxes

• Items will be shipped DOD (Duties On Delivery), so you may be eligible for taxes in your country upon receiving the shipment.
• The items will be shipped, marked as Gift, which may clear customs tax-free in some countries.

No Double-Charge for shipping

• Backers who have already paid for shipping will not be double charged.
• This applies to:
  • Backers who purchased an Add-On post campaign in Backerkit.
  • People who solely purchased a Pre-Order in Backerkit.
• I've voided the additional shipping cost to backers whom these apply to.

Payment

• On Monday the 18th of March you'll receive an email from Backerkit to update your payment information.
• It'll look like this:

• Click the link in the email to enter your payment details in Backerkit.
• It'll look like this:

• You'll see the shipping fee applied to your balance. 
• Enter your credit card details and click the Place My Order button.
• Your credit card will be charged for the balance in Order Total on Thursday 28th of March. You'll be notified a few days before the charge occurs by an email from Backerkit.

Address Change

• If you have an address change since we locked addresses, please send me a DM in Kickstarter and I'll fix it manually.
• If a lot of people need address change, we'll unlock addresses for a short period of time.

Dates

• 18th of March: Update Payment email sent out from Backerkit
• 28th of March: Credit cards charged in Backerkit
• Shipping asap in early April, so long as we have a large bulk of shipments with paid shipping. 

Game Giveaways

• We're giving away some of our games to backers receiving physical items. They'll be made available through Backerkit on Monday 18th or Tuesday.
• Viking Chess: Hnefatafl (Steam only)
• Mesmer (Steam only)
• Teslagrad 2 (Steam only, limited amount of keys available. When we're out, we're out.)

Dear Backers,

the shipping of Kickstarter rewards happens soon! The shipping date is not confirmed yet, but we expect to get the date this week or the next. We've received notice from manufacturer to expect shipping in late February\early March. We could ship some things earlier than that, but I want to ship all items at the same time so that it's "christmas" for everyone at the same time. :)

We are locking addresses on Monday the 15th of January.

Please log in to Backerkit and adjust your shipping address if you need to, before that deadline.

Please see the Help section on Backerkit for assistance on how to change shipping address.

Please also ensure that you've completed your survey in Backerkit. There are 93 backers that have not completed their survey. I've sent out notifications to the backers involved, but mentioning it here as well. To complete your survey, log in to Backerkit and answer the questionnaire for this project, checking your shipping address etc.

The pre-order store that was available for this project in Backerkit is now closed. There will be another opportunity coming soon for pre-ordering physical Switch copy, and I'll make another post on that once it is available.

Nintendo Switch version and physical items

Dear Sparks,

thank you for your patience waiting for the Nintendo Switch version of the game, as well as physical items like the Artbook etc.

We had our hearts and minds set for release and shipping before the holiday, but the date has been pushed back to the end of January 2024. Everything is ready except the physical manufacture of the Nintendo Switch version and physical items. The digital Nintendo Switch version will be released at the same time as physical.

We unfortunately missed the scheduled manufacturing "timeslot" before the busy holiday season, because the ESRB age rating and Nintendo verification took longer than expected. Since the player can read all of the current Girl Genius comics in the game, the comics needed to be verified both by ESRB and Nintendo, which was a Jägermonster-sized hurdle. The age rating came out as Teen (13+) since the comics contain some more graphic content than the game itself. Also, two certain character homages referencing Nintendo IP in the comics was thankfully approved. Here's some trivia for you! Phil and Kaja prepared redrawn pages changing the costume of the characters in question, but they ended up not needing to be used.

I'm sorry about the delay. I admit that one of the hardest parts of this project has been to line up physical production and publishing and shipping.

Thank you again for your patience, and I look forward to releasing the Nintendo Switch version! The Nintendo Switch version is polished, highly optimized and plays real smooth so it's worth the wait.
